About me – The face behind Angels and Gypsies!
My name is Celestine Anderson and I am the managing director of Angels and Gypsies.
I didn’t start off in the wedding industry. In fact, up until about 10 years ago, I avoided weddings because they used to be boring and as a creative person, I found this very frustrating. However, the industry has changed so much over the years and now we are free to have whatever type of wedding we like; this is very exciting!
I chose to go into the wedding industry after getting married myself. I found it difficult to get my hands on things that I liked unless I was paying for a full decor service. Dry hire items were basic and tatty. Some of the decor items that vendors had on offer were things that I could buy in a department store myself. I wanted access to glamorous wedding centrepiece hire and bling but I could not find these types of items on a service that was stress free for me. I have spoken to many brides who have had the same experience. In the end, I did a lot of my wedding decor myself; and I enjoyed it; although it was hard work!
I decided to start Angels and Gypsies because I believe couples deserve options. I love being booked for full decor packages; I love designing every aspect and tiny detail. But if you are a creative or wanted to do things yourself, I respect that too! I don’t think that you should be made to feel (as I was) like you are a nuisance with a low budget. I wanted you to have somewhere that you could hire in decor items that would usually either be too expensive to purchase or too much hassle to get access to. I felt like offering a range of hire services would benefit most couples. Our services range from a dry hire service where our clients can pick up and drop off decor items to our full decor package where you sit back and let us decorate for you; and some more stuff in between!
I believe that every couple deserves the wedding of their dreams, and my aim is to help couples get there; or as economically close as possible.
Why choose me?
I am a mixed bag of talents. I studied Fashion design and technology at the London College of Fashion, I have multiple qualifications in the wedding and event planning and venue decor and last but not least, I have a First class Law degree; I am creative and intelligent! I also have previous experience of organising stalls for international trade fairs all over Europe; events management was part of my job for over 7 years.
To date, I have worked on many weddings including celebrity weddings and have been featured in various publications including Hello Magazine. I have also worked as an Art Director for Bollywood movies; specialising in particular in film wedding scenes.
I started Angels and Gypsies in order to use my skills, knowledge and experience to make wedding decor and venue styling hassle free and easy. I am committed to helping each couple or event organiser that crosses my path, achieve their visual goals. I want good service to be something that everyone deserves.
